For yoga, you'll want to bring your own Yoga mat (rentals are also available). The studio is fully equipped with all other props.
We prefer that students wear fitted clothing that enables your knee joints to be visible. Be prepared to practice in bare feet.
Changing rooms and storage cubbies are available in the studio.
Every class will challenge and inspire you. While each teacher has their own method, all classes begin with warm-up stretches and an awareness of the breath (pranayama). Teachers lead the class through a series of postures (asanas), according to the class level. Asanas are usually presented with more- and less-challenging options so that everyone can feel comfortable. Some classes use props like straps and blocks to help establish an asana. Class ends with several minutes of shuvasana, the "corpse pose." Everyone leaves feeling more alive, present, and healthy than when they came in.
We recommend the Back to Basics class for students who have never done yoga; this will provide a solid foundation for the breathing exercises and the asanas. Check out the class descriptions page to learn more.
Yoga can often help the body to recover, but you should still inform your doctor or health care provider before beginning your practice. Also, be sure to tell your teacher at the start of class about your injury.
