Our class offerings are a celebration of life focused on awakening the very essence of who we are. We are devoted to creating an atmosphere that encourages freedom in both movement and expression, cultivating passion and creativity in our community. We simply call Yoga by its name, moving away from the current trend to create brands. We teach postures (asana), flowing sequences (vinyasa), slow-moving or held postures (sthana), breathing (pranayama), and meditative practices.
Like to play in the outdoors? We do too. But we humans made a mess outside, so it's time to clean up. That's why we're offering classes that profit the planet. Each time you attend a Yoga for Trees class, we'll sponsor a tree being planted in the Plumas National Forest. Inhale deeply to improve your lungs and know you're inhaling cleaner air. We've planted 1241 trees in 8.5 months!

YOGA
We simply call Yoga by its name, moving away from the current trend to create brands. We teach postures (asana), flowing sequences (vinyasa), slow-moving or held postures (sthana), breathing (pranayama), and meditative practices.
BEGINNERS YOGA
This class is perfect for people new to the practice of yoga as well as for more seasoned students who want to review the basics. You will strengthen the foundation of your practice and receive individualized attention as you gain flexibility, strength, and balance. In each class you will explore the specific alignment of asanas (poses) and asana sequences including standing and seated poses, backbends, and sun salutations. You will also explore the relationship of movement and breath.
RESTORATIVE YOGA
Restorative yoga is a receptive practice in which your body is passive throughout the experience, weightlessly supported by props as your muscles extend and relax into subtle postures. We explore the energetic union of breath and long-held passive asanas. This class is open to yogis of all backgrounds, levels, sizes, and ages. No yoga experience is necessary; just come with the willingness to be still and present with yourself. Hands-on assisting will facilitate a deeper experience.
HEATED YOGA
The room temperature is warm (75-85 degrees) but not hot, as we encourage building the fire from within.
PRENATAL
The following teachers welcome pre-natal students in any of their classes: Abby, Colleen, Marni, Stacey, Aleatsae, David, Liz, Isabelle, Deanna, Caressa
YIN YOGA
Yin yoga targets connective tissue, specifically ligaments and fascia of the joints and spine. Connective tissue makes up about 50% of resistance against the bodys flexibility, while muscles account for about 40% of resistance. Over time, yin yoga can lengthen connective tissue, increasing range of motion. Yin asanas are almost entirely passive and do not usually include what would usually be classified as standing asanas or balance poses. In this class we'll open up the deep, dense, connective tissues and joints of the body, which are not often reached in an active, traditional yoga class. Each class is comprised of a series of poses held for a considerable length of time (3-10 minutes) to allow for a more complete release. All levels are welcome.
1/2 YOGA 1/2 YIN
This class includes a balanced mixture of active sequencing and passive, deep stretching. We'll build heat from the inside out and cool down from the outside in. Surfing the breath the entire time.
YOGA FOR TREES CLASSES
Like to play in the outdoors? We do too. But we humans made a mess outside, so it's time to clean up. That's why we're offering classes that profit the planet. Each time you attend a Yoga for Trees class, we'll sponsor a tree being planted in the Plumas National Forest. Inhale deeply to improve your lungs and know you're inhaling cleaner air.

More info
Please honor the expiration date of your card. We do not offer extensions.
We have a two hour cancellation policy. Classes not canceled within our policy are forfeited.
You'll probably want to bring your own yoga mat, but rentals are also available for $2. The studio is fully equipped with all other props.
Be prepared to practice in bare feet.
We strongly encourage you to register before class. This allows you to be fully present upon arrival. No need to bring money or valuables with you, and you are guaranteed a space in class!
Please arrive early to inform instructors of any injuries, concerns, or special health conditions and let your teacher know if you have to leave class early.
If you need to bring your cell phone inside the studio, please turn off all cell phone ringer and vibration features. We recommend leaving your mobile devices outside the studio entirely.
Please don't step on the hardwood floors with your shoes on. This helps keep the studio extra clean and is also a symbolic gesture of your intention to be fully present and mindful during your practice.
Yoga is absolutely non-competitive. It is a mindful practice which makes the body stronger, more flexible, and generally healthier. The aim is to calm the mind, open the heart, and accelerate our evolution.
Be kind and loving to yourself by accepting where you are. Rest sometimes. Do what you can, with what you have, and with where you are. Listen to your body; pushing yourself beyond comfort and into pain is not part of any practice.
Please bring a towel if you think you need one for a) sweat or b) slippery mats.
If another student arrives late, please be gracious and make room.
